Dear Nomadic Customers and Partners,


My heart goes out to the thousands of victims, families and employees who have been affected by this virus. The health and safety of our employees and our customers is our utmost priority. We are closely monitoring the CDC’s recommendations and have suspended all travel for employees, implemented strict cleaning protocols throughout the day, and are limiting meetings and sizes to support social distancing.


As the spread of COVID-19 continues to impact how we live and work, we want you to know that Nomadic Display is open and here to support you and your business during these challenging times. This unique public health crisis is creating uncertainty and anxiety in our industry, and we have adapted our business model as needed to continue to support our clients, our employees and our vendor partners during these challenging times.


Nomadic Display is an Enterprise business with multiple locations and redundant capabilities in place, so we will not miss a step in servicing our customers. Our Las Vegas staff members have moved to a fully remote work environment while our Virginia factory and North Carolina factories are fully operational and adapting protocols to meet current safety standards.


Finally, our team is ready and available to help with any immediate needs, and to reschedule or reconfigure your existing orders as needed. Our design team is also on-call to help support and advise you in any way we can to help you weather this crisis.


As a small business, we are thankful for your continued support of our company and team as we navigate the ever-changing world. The only thing that is ever certain in life is change, and we know that we will be able to adapt and overcome these challenges together.

Quick Staging Solutions For Your Awards Show

Virtually every industry – large or small – hosts an awards program. Awards are a great way to generate publicity for those who sponsor and receive them. After all, what’s not to like about recognition? Awards make us proud of ourselves or our company, serve as a reward for outstanding achievement and offer us an opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments.

Some awards programs are glamorous, black tie affairs. The Golden Globes, the Oscars, the Tony Awards, and the Emmys are among a few examples that air on network television. Many of us eagerly gather with family or friends to watch these star studded affairs.

Most of us don’t know all of the details that go into producing an awards program. Take something as simple as the “red carpet”. Guests pose for the press as they arrive. So the event needs a backdrop at the entrance with its name, sponsor logos, etc. Ideally, the backdrop needs to be set-up quickly, provide a smooth graphic finish for the cameras and be easily taken down afterward. For these reasons among others, the Kennedy Center chose Nomadic Instand® pop up displays to form a 20’ backwall for the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors event.

This year’s honorees included singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa, and actress and Broadway star Cicely Tyson.

Other awards programs are all about peer recognition. For instance, the In-House Agency Forum (IHAF) honors creative excellence in print and digital media produced by in-house staff.

Their awards event draws members for an evening of cocktails and hors d’oeurves, the chance to view creative work by contemporaries and maybe come away with a trophy. Winners are scored by a panel of judges and selected to receive Gold, Silver and Honorable Mention awards.

Every program has its own challenges, some of which may be similar to those of the annual IHAF Awards. There was no storage available on-site. Dozens of entries had to be put on display for viewing in print and on screen. There was just one day for installation and everything had to be dismantled the same evening after the event.

Zap Creative helped the IHAF put on an awesome awards show. Zap rented their Nomadic modular wall system to mount all of the print entries. The system is fast to set-up and take down. Frames ship pre-assembled and connect without tools. Connectors pre-installed within each frame draw them together side-by-side. Presto, you’re ready to show.

Award shows are events that are fun for attendees. But the people behind-the-scenes that make it all look so effortless are the real heroes that deserve a round of applause, or a toast or maybe even a trophy.

Newest Exhibit Innovation from Nomadic Wins Two Awards at Exhibitor2014

Exhibitor2014 is the trade show for trade show and corporate event marketing professionals. The 25th annual conference offered 160 education sessions, an expanded exhibition hall and an inaugural Awards Night.

We premiered our newest trade show exhibit innovation, the DesignLine® Wall System, with a trade show booth design that received rave reviews from attendees. Visitors reacted with delight to our brightly colored graphics and variety of lighting options including backlit walls, LED color changing downlights and whimsical accent lighting.

The exhibit was so well received we generated an increase of 65% more visitors.

Floor to ceiling fabric graphics featured face-to-face conversations about what marketers need from their exhibit partner. Exhibit marketers adapt their programs to meet the changes their business undergoes, often with limited resources. Our presentation was designed to illustrate how Nomadic helps exhibitors turn change into new opportunities with modular displays that adapt to fit a new use or situation.

Exhibitor hosted a gala Awards Night to present 2014 awards for exhibition excellence to winners at a dinner and ceremony. The Walton County Tourist Development Council exhibit received not one but TWO awards! Designed by Zehnder and Synergy Design Group, we produced the custom modular exhibit with our new DesignLine Wall System. A juried panel selected it to receive the Best 10x10 exhibit award. By popular vote, it also received the People’s Choice award. Our sincerest thanks to everyone to voted!

Using iPads for Trade Shows, is there an App for that?

We recently heard a great question from an exhibitor "Can iPads be used to interact with clients and capture contact information or are they strictly for disseminating information?"

Nomadic Gets Creative With Tech at Exhibitor2013

Last week’s Exhibitor2013 show was a BIG hit – bigger show floor, new education sessions and more attendees preparing to invest in their trade show marketing programs. 

The show floor buzzed with activity and high spirited attendees.  Visitors were stopped in their tracks by artist Zach Trenholm  finger sketching avatars on his iPad in our booth and lined up to watch on a large monitor.

While attendees awaited their turn for a sitting, they were invited to watch a short video introducing our new Media in Demand App for iPad.  Visitors learned how much time and money they can save placing all of their sales and marketing media – literature, photos and videos – on their own branded version of our Media on Demand App for their sales team to use on their iPad or smart phone.

Nomadic's Backdrop, Fit For The Queen

Britain's Queen Elizabeth graciously accepted an invitation to visit the Republic of Ireland from its President, Mary McAleese. The 85 year old Queen was the FIRST British Monarch to visit Ireland in over a CENTURY.  Her landmark visit included a stop at the infamous Croke Park stadium in Dublin.  Accompanied by her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, The Queen received a gift from the President of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Christy Cooney.  The GAA oversees the national sport of Ireland: Hurling, which dates back over 3,000 years.  Hurling combines skills from baseball, lacrosse and field hockey into one action packed sport.  The Queen graciously accepted hallmarks of Gaelic sport: a stick called a hurley and a ball called a sliotar.

This once in a life time event called for the historic presentation to be set against none other than a Nomadic Display.  The vibrant GAA set design, seen by millions of viewers featured an intricate logo accentuated by luminous yellow light.  Another example of how Nomadic displays go b-e-y-o-n-d just trade shows to provide branded platforms for special events. Nomadic Kicks Off Memorial Day With Our Annual Barbecue Bonanaza

Our Annual Pre Memorial Day Barbecue Bonanza kicked off with Nomadic employees excited to chow down on grilled sensations, catch up with coworkers and compete in the highly anticipated “watermelon seed spitting" contest.

Shortly after the award ceremony wrapped up, where Paul Collins received a gift for his 15th year at Nomadic Display, the “watermelon seed” spitting contest began. While some Nomadic employees had a dedicated technique and gave it their all, others tried to “wing it” with quirky maneuvers.

So who ended up having the most powerful lungpower, speed and trajectory? Kristen Olsson and Ryan Wallis sent their "watermelon seeds" soaring over 30' to take 1st Place.  Our winners did not leave empty handed and were awarded trophies for their top talents and will have to compete again next year to maintain the right to display their trophy at their desks.

Nomadic Salutes Our Troops

In honor of Memorial Day, Nomadic salutes the fallen men and women that lost their lives in service of our country. We have a couple of little known facts to share with you surrounding the history of Memorial Day via the History Channel:

  • Originally known as "Decoration Day", Memorial Day honored service men who had given their lives in battle by decorating their grave stones with flags and flowers.
  • Memorial Day was first widely observed in 1868 following the Civil War.
  • Congress declared Memorial Day a National holiday in 1971.
  • Today Memorial Day is celebrated in Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony attended by thousands in which a small American flag is placed at EVERY grave site.

Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has proclaimed National Small Business Week to recognize the contributions of small businesses to the American economy. A few little known facts may illustrate their impact:

  • More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business
  • Small Businesses create 60-80% of new jobs in the country 

The U.S. Small Business Administration honors the nation’s top entrepreneurs each year by selecting a Small Business Person of the Year from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam. 

Winners celebrate by gathering for a 3 day educational conference in the Nation's Capitol in May where one state winner is also selected as the National Small Business Person of the Year. This year's winners represent a broad range of companies including a pediatric outpatient clinic, technology solutions provider, gourmet chocolate manufacturer, “green” commercial cleaning service, and an educational publisher.
