Industry Trends - The Next Ten Years

According to a recent Tradeshow Week research survey of corporate exhibitors, attendees are well informed through information available on the Internet. Attendees are coming to shows with a more defined purpose and a robust agenda. They are often further along in the buying process when they get to the show. The impact of the Internet has lowered barriers to entry, added more marketing channels and caused more price transparency. So while the stakes are higher for exhibitors, the good news is that informed buyers are more engaged attendees.

Events are becoming the perfect complement to Web-based marketing because buyers require personal interaction to sort though the clutter of an overwhelming amount of information. They need an up-close view of the people and products they have been reviewing on the Web.

As a result the relationship between events and other media such as the Internet, will become more important over the next ten years. Going forward, its likely that business people will require more information and education to stay on top of rapidly changing markets and trends. So take full advantage of the opportunities this presents by fully integrating your event programs with your company’s overall marketing efforts.

The Web is the introduction to an organization and the preeminent communications tool. Events provide value added education and information through personal interaction that further accelerates the sales process.

Trade Show Tips - Pre-Show Marketing

As an event marketer trying to reach a large, targeted audience within a tight budget, e-mail usually wins the cost-per-impression showdown. But studies have shown that the best direct marketing campaigns utilize a blend of communications channels.

Don’t forget direct mail. When e-mail marketing first arrived, many thought it would replace direct mail. Instead, the two have grown to complement each other as a powerful team.

Use e-mail to build relationships. E-mail isn’t always the best choice for generating new leads, but it’s a great tool for maintaining contact with your existing database. Develop a plan for “touching base” periodically with your contacts; even if they don’t open your e-mail, you’ll be on their mind.

Case Study - Polymer Manufacturer stands out with Nomadic

When Mississippi Polymer Technologies (MPT) was gearing up to launch their new Parmax® SRP brand, they turned to Synergy Design Group for exhibiting help. The company wanted a display presentation that introduced their brand with confidence—something that would turn heads. And they got more than they asked for. The resulting design not only dominated MPT’s first exhibition experience, but it also won them a Teddy Award.

Synergy’s design team reviewed MPT’s objectives, and designed a system that fused a curved Nomadic Instand® pop-up with front-mounted graphics and a SpaceStrut® frame with back-mounted tension fabric. The 10’x20’ exhibit can be split into two 10’x10’ units for multiple shows or configurations.

“The display presents a clean, clear, powerful image,” says MPT Marcom Manager Toni Tagliabovore, describing the award-winning exhibit. She finds that the display grabs plenty of attention at shows and is extremely easy to work with—taking a single person less than an hour to set up.
