Washington DC CareersSenior Staff/Payroll Accountant Immediate need for a accounting professional who is ready for their next progressive step up in their career. Must have a good working knowledge of all aspects of the accounting function. Responsible to process, manage and control all aspects of the biweekly payroll process for three companies utilizing internal ACCPAC software in a computerized environment. Process and file all biweekly, monthly and quarterly payroll tax reports and remit withholding and related payroll tax payments on time. Responsible to prepare and oversee all payroll related audits. Convert foreign financial data to US monetary equivalent. Prepare monthly journal entries for one company and update financial data in an excel report. Assist the Controller with various financial data entry, account analysis and reports as needed. Also assist controller with overseeing and training new staff. BS in Accounting or equivalent on the job accounting experience with strong concentration in the payroll and general ledger areas. Minimum of 6 years experience in an office environment requiring involvement with financial, accounting and budget functions. Extensive knowledge of payroll the associated tax liabilities and filing requirements. Experience with automated accounting systems and Excel spreadsheets. Must have good mathematical ability and aptitude. Excellent written and oral communication skills. |
