An International Emergency - Nomadic's LifeLine Service saves the show

by Marketing 5/7/2008 8:15:00 AM

TigenixWhen TiGenix, a Belgium-based biomedical company, called Nomadic's LifeLine Service on April 24 at 8:30 in the morning, their tradeshow in Washington DC had already started.  Their freight company had lost their 10' pop-up booth.  Meanwhile, Nomadic's Belgium Distributor Art & Press Dimensions already called me directly and asked for a miracle.  By 10:30 AM, Nomadic received the artwork for graphics via FTP upload and by 2:00 PM the same day, I had set up a pop-up display with graphics in Washington DC.

Personally, it was very rewarding to see a client astonished about our service. But most of all, I enjoyed the words of support, interest and comments by otheTigenixr exhibitors in the show—  "My exhibit house would not do that for me" and  "Your set-up only took 5 minutes while ours took hours.”

I am proud of the people at Nomadic who made our exceptional service once more a reality.   We come to work because of the feedback from clients like TiGenix.

As Sven Maenhout, International Marketing Director at TiGenix, wrote after the show:  “When we were thinking about which company to order our pop-up booth from, one of the deciding factors for us was the International Network and the LifeLine Service from Nomadic.    Now that we have had first-hand experience with the high level of quality of emergency support, I can assure you that in the future, these decisions will be very easy to make...  Not only were we highly impressed by the rapid turnaround and support offered, but also with the high quality of printed graphics, which truly convinced us of the professionalism of Nomadic.”

How a Rocky Spot Led Me to the Trade Show Business

by Marketing 4/3/2008 4:58:00 AM

Pic1_2After 20 years of running the operation and finance departments of a large, bureaucratic organization, people always ask how I got into the business of creating trade show exhibits. The answer is different than you might expect.

During my career in transportation, I’ve always had an eye out for a creative entrepreneurial venture. When I left my eight-to-six job, I spent two months turning the word “derelict” from a noun to a verb, and looking at creative opportunities to feed my family. One day, I was fishing on the bank of the St. Johns River here in Jacksonville, Florida. The spot was rocky and I could not use the traditional sand spikes to hold fishing poles. I spotted the square receiver hitch on the back of my SUV and thought about crafting a rod holder that would fit into it. In a nutshell, this led me to months of research and fabrication. I invented a versatile hitch device that holds a tabletop, barbeque grill, cargo deck, flag pole, umbrella, cutting boards, and much more (yes, including rod holders.) Patented in 2006, the TruckSpike is a “portable modular” tailgating toy.

Pic1_2The TruckSpike has been marketed to outdoor enthusiasts, primarily sports tailgaters. Accordingly, I found the best private parking space near our local stadium. After a couple years at the same spot, I found out that the business where I used to park was a display house and I eventually went to work for them. While this position was not financially rewarding, the creative aspect of helping companies create vibrant and visual displays fed my creative instincts, and the exhibit business made my blood flow. Like many of my fellow Nomadic distributors, I got hooked on the business!

Rather than buying that business, I decided to start from scratch and with my business partner, we started Bluewater Exhibit Group in 2007. We have been a part of the Nomadic family for nearly a year now, and could not be more pleased. Not only are Nomadic’s products living up to the reputation of being the best quality on the market, but we are also impressed with the way Nomadic is using its position in the marketplace to help us leverage ourselves into larger exhibits. And don’t try to convince me that there is a stronger, more customer-focused team that Nomadic Display. Together, we have a good foothold in the north Florida market and are building on our momentum.

So tailgating has become a smaller part of my life. But we still hold a number of great TruckSpike tailgate parties to entertain our display clients.

Testimonials

Built to last

by Marketing 3/27/2008 5:53:00 AM

As I was running some ideas in my head for a blog topic, I absent-mindedly went through my electronic folders. I scanned them briefly until I found myself looking at a folder named “testimonials.”

Just like what the term connotes, it's a collection of written declaration. But this one is a compilation of quotes and thoughts from our clients who were more than willing to share their views about Nomadic and its products.

So I would like to share with you a few of these testimonials about our products' quality and durability, from some clients who have been with us all these years:

“Nomadic has provided NCP with a versatile Instand® display. The entire stand can be packed quickly and transported easily from conferences. The “No Questions Asked” lifetime warranty is reassuring, since we use the display about 15 times a year.” Helen Kennedy, National Car Parks (NCP)

“We have a Nomadic display that is over ten years old. We are very happy with it and would like to add another to our inventory.” Anita Gorski, Daley College

“We have one of your displays which we have used for nearly 20 years. The quality and durability of the display is simply exceptional.” Lloyd Meyer, Renner USA

If you have a story or quote you want to share about your Nomadic display, please email us at marketing@nomadicdisplay.com. Accompanying photos would be truly appreciated.
