Make your giveaways work hard for you

by Marketing 9/24/2008 9:33:00 AM

Gift giving builds goodwill, communicates a message and creates awareness, but when thinking about giveaways for your next event, consider the bigger picture— your company’s future sales.

Aside from making sure that your company’s event premium ties into to your marketing message, it should require future contact with your salespeople, or generate frequent visits to your customers or prospects.

Bernafon, a Swiss company that specializes in hearing-aid technology, tried this premium strategy.  The company purchased 40 candy dispensers, filled them with Jelly Belly jellybeans, and gave them away to customers during the holidays. The company mailed out boxes of the treats to refill the dispensers once a month for three months  (Source: Exhibitor Magazine, January 2004).

The result— they received a significant number of calls from customers and were able to establish a strong relationship with at least 25% of the companies who responded to their offer.

So be creative about your giveaways and don’t hesitate to let them work hard for you.

Exhibit rental as a green exhibiting option

by Marketing 8/13/2008 11:25:00 AM

Green DisplayLooking for a green way to exhibit without breaking the bank? I suggest you consider an exhibit rental

But what makes this growing exhibiting trend a way to reduce carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner and greener earth?  When you rent an exhibit, you’re more likely to rent it from a vendor whose warehouse is located near your show venue. This translates to less transportation time and reduction in fuel use. Another green advantage is that exhibit rentals encourage re-use of exhibit components that would have otherwise been left to disintegrate in storage areas.

And because of the savings you gain from renting your exhibit, you will have more money for creative “green” giveaways that will help you attract attendees to your booth.

To learn more about the benefits of exhibit rentals, obtain a copy of our latest white paper “ Is the Rental Revolution Right for You?

EXHIB-IT! presents a Nomadic display to a shelter helping teen moms

by Marketing 7/2/2008 9:36:00 AM

Life Options AcademyWe recently moved into a 9,000 square foot building only a couple of blocks from our old location.  We simply outgrew our accommodations, as we seem to do every three to five years.  For this Grand Opening, we wanted to do something special. Instead of giving our usual door prize display to an unsuspecting lucky attendee, we presented a nonprofit organization, Life Options Academy, with a new six-foot Sirius tabletop display manufactured by Nomadic Display valued at $1,200.  The presentation took place after speeches given by two State Senators who came to show their support of what EXHIB-IT! is doing to help the New Mexico business community.

Life Options Academy (LOA), a 501c3 corporation, helps New Mexico teen moms transform their lives and break the cycle of poverty and abuse that teen parenting perpetuates. Now in its fourth year of operation, the organization operates in a newly purchased private home located in a quiet and safe neighborhood.  The home provides a safe haven for young girls to begin rebuilding their lives with love and support.

LOAWe selected Life Options Academy to receive what we titled, The Empowering Exhibitor’s Display, because the organization is very forward thinking.  Life Options Academy and its staff offer solutions through empowering young girls and giving them the tools they need to become successful mothers and independent women.

Life Options Academy CEO, Jane Dixon, accepted the display before 175 members of the business community.  She explained to the onlookers, “Our community needs to know about the Academy to both support and utilize resources this organization provides.  Having this top-of-the-line Nomadic display will help Life Options Academy get more hands-on visibility at trade shows and events. Thank you, Nomadic Display and EXHIB-IT! for your help in bringing this organization’s greatest assets to light.”

Before the end of the evening, we welcomed 400 attendees at our Grand Open House between 5 pm and 8 pm.  We welcomed guest speakers from four political offices and had ribbon cuttings conducted by three chambers of commerce.  Many local business and non-profit organizations were present to take advantage of the networking opportunity provided by such high attendance.  Our event was such a success that we intend to hold another networking event next year of this size and magnitude.

Captain’s Log: Beyond the Holodeck

by Marketing 4/30/2008 5:58:00 AM
Star Trek

I remember sitting down with my Dad when I was young and watching my first Star Trek episode. I have not missed a single one since. Yes I proudly call myself a Sci-fi Geek and more specifically a Trekkie. I’ve boldly followed the final frontier voyages of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway and Archer.

When I started here 10 years ago, it was exciting for me to find out that Nomadic had a hand in building the Holodeck on Voyager. Unfortunately we never had any photos of this…until today!

Susan Cassano out of our New York office recently found photos of our Instand displays being used as the backdrop of the Holodeck. So if you are curious as to what was behind all of the fancy off-world virtual adventures, take a look at these.

Instand on television

This clearly shows that Nomadic’s products truly are versatile and can be used for any kind of environments, even ones in outer space! So if the producers of Star Trek Voyager could make Instand work for them, then you should be able to easily use our displays at your next trade show convention.
